USB 3.0 ports on computers that do not have backwards (2.0) compatibility cannot be used with the SPD-SX. It's recommended to bypass any USB hub and connect directly to a physical port on the computer when possible. Make sure this is matched within the software. By default, the SPD-SX MIDI Channel is set to 10. The USB-MIDI I/F switch must be set to "ON." If it was changed from WAVE MGR, you must cycle the power on/off. The USB Mode must be set to AUDIO/MIDI. Windows 10 drivers are installed automatically after changing the USB Mode in the SPD-SX to "AUDIO/MIDI," rebooting it, and then connecting the USB Computer port to the computer. Be sure to follow the important driver troubleshooting information on the driver downloads page. MAC OS 10.13 -10.15 will block the installation of drivers in the background. If you hear sounds being triggered, then you'll know the SPD-SX's MIDI ports are functioning, and you'll need to check things in your computer and/or MIDI interface. Select a factory kit that has sounds assigned to the pads in the SPD-SX. Using a standard MIDI cable, connect the MIDI OUT of the SPD-SX to its MIDI IN - essentially creating a loop. Turn OFF the Local Control setting in the SPD-SX:Ĭonfirm the USB-MIDI I/F switch in the SPD-SX is set to "OFF."Ĭonnect headphones to the PHONES output on the SPD-SX and turn up the PHONES knob.
